332Mobile Poker

Just as the internet revolutionized the way poker is played on a day to day basis for millions of people world wide, the new mobile G3 and G4 networks may be taking that a step further, reports Bloomberg news agency.
It’s not a new idea, but the implementation itself is. For about five years now, the electronic gambling industry has been hedging their bets behind mobile gambling, and it seems that the technology has finally reached that point.
We’ve reported that at least two providers are already offering this opportunity. Redkings may offer a mobile client for real money online poker games among others with several mobile providers in Europe, while the social networking gaming giant Zynga is now offering freeroll Hold ‘Em on the Apple iPhone.
It’s the next logical step. Thousands of people are using mobile phones to access social network sites like Myspace and Facebook, it only makes sense that in a world of convenience, the mobile may eventually replace many other activities that have been traditionally reserved for the desktop or laptop computer, such as online poker playing.
Charles Palmer, speaking on behalf of mFuse of the UK, said, “In the past year our clients have taken more than 100 million pounds of bets through mobile devices, which suggests that the market is developing very quickly.”
In depressed economic times, it’s always refreshing to see an industry continuing to grow despite the current environment, but it should also be noted that American gamblers and poker players won’t be seeing mobile gambling anytime soon. While freerolls may soon become popular applications to download, the UIGEA will need to be overturned before anything like this will manifest in the US.
