Many States display firework displays, and many fireworks are sold for personal use or as an alternative to a public show. Some states have started total or partial bans of fireworks due to concern of safety.. Illicit traffic transfers some fireworks from less limiting states. Chinese Lanterns or Sky Lanterns as they are ordinarily named to are winning popularity as an alternative to fireworks on this grand occasion.
