When you grind online, you basically need to learn a new vocabulary. Online poker players often think that they are too good, or too busy, to write out full words in the chat box. They are very prone to abbreviations, such as OBV (obviously) OMG (o my gosh) and TTYL (talk to you later). These abbreviate forms of common phrases can take a while to get used to. It is simply not instinctual to think of the phrases we use in everyday language in terms of their first letter. If you want to be an online poker grinder, you will need to know the abbreviations backwards and forwards. You don’t have the time to write out full words in the chat function when you are trying to win while multitabling. Your focus should be on winning, not on perfecting your grammar. Avoid the issue and memorize some key phrases that you would want to learn. If you find a good online dictionary for abbreviations you should be able to find a wide variety of terms that you can use, ranging from the relatively innocuous to declarations of full out poker war. Remember to choose your letters carefully, however, because the other poker online players can use a dictionary as well.
